Message from the President

Welcome in Athens for the XV Regional ISBT Congress, Europe. Athens, is a most appropriate setting for this meeting when one considers Greece’s contribution to the practice of medicine. Indeed, the ISBT is delighted to host this event in such a historical setting, the land of Hippocrates, the founder of medicine.

During this Congress the organisers wish to bridge the perceived gap between blood operators who prepare the products and the transfusionnists who utilize them. To this end, several sessions are devoted to adequate blood utilization and will focus on the most recent evidence-based transfusion practices.

In addition, this Congress will be an ideal venue to exchange ideas with your colleagues, to make new acquaintances and to familiarize yourself with the most recent technology.

Before or after the Congress, make plans to spend some time to experience this unique city and country. It is a wonderful setting for combining culture and rest.
