CALL FOR BIDS FOR THE REGIONAL CONGRESSES IN 2013
The International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT) is a scientific
society, founded in 1935 and joining over 1000 professionals involved in
blood transfusion and transfusion medicine from more than 100 countries.
Bidding open for the XXlllrd and XXlVth Regional Congresses of the ISBT, 2013.
An important activity of the ISBT is its annual congresses; an international congress each even year and regional congresses in odd years. ISBT endeavors to ensure that there is a wide geographical spread for the location of its international congresses. In 2010 the international congress will be held in Berlin, Germany. Previous international congresses have been held in Macao 2008, Cape Town 2006, Edinburgh 2004 and Vancouver 2002.
To be eligible for hosting the Regional Congress various criteria need to be met including: the congress centre must be of sufficient size to hold plenary and parallel sessions for up to 3,500 delegates and a large industry exhibition, there should be sufficient hotel rooms of a variety of standards, and there must be international flight connections.
The ISBT is inviting bids from blood transfusion societies and organisations for hosting the ISBT regional congresses in 2013.
