Dear Colleagues,

It is my great pleasure to announce that the XXXth International Congress of the International Society of Blood Transfusion will be convened in the Macao SAR from June 7 - 12, 2008.

For the first time ever the XXXth International Congress of ISBT is to be held in the Macao SAR and will feature a scientific program that addresses contemporary issues and the latest scientific developments in Blood Transfusion. Distinguished speakers and experts will be invited to present topics of both global and regional interests and constructive experiences and opinions will be exchanged. The Macao Congress will definitely provide a platform to acquire information on cutting-edge scientific developments, to make new friends and to renew old acquaintances.

With its rich East meets West culture and unique history, Macao is listed on UNESCO's World Heritage List as being "The Historic Centre of Macao". The heritage of European settlers has combined with Chinese traditions to create a cultural blend that is expressed in Baroque churches and ornate temples, street markets and theme parks.
We plan to organize a variety of events that will show you the highlights of Macao, from traditional Chinese architecture to Western style fortresses, churches, and our famous lighthouse. Macao is also a gourmet paradise of Chinese, Portuguese, Italian, and Asian cuisines. There are also all kinds of entertainment that suit nature lovers and outdoor trackers.
