NEW MASTERS COURSE IN TRANSFUSION, TRANSPLANTATION AND TISSUE BANKING
NEW Masters Course in Transfusion, Transplantation and Tissue Banking: Edinburgh University
IIn collaboration with the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service
and the British Blood Transfusion Society, Edinburgh University will be
offering a part-time MSc in Transfusion, Transplantation and Tissue
Banking from next autumn. The course is primarily intended for those
working in the Health Service and aims to provide a broad knowledge of
Transfusion, Transplantation & Tissue Banking for those aiming for more
senior management roles in healthcare organisations.
The healthcare scientist's role is becoming increasingly complex.
Leaders of the future will require an in-depth understanding of the
science, regulations and international practices in the fields of
Transfusion, Transplantation and Tissue Banking. This course aims to
provide these.
The programme combines eight one-week modules in Edinburgh combining
lectures, tutorials and assessments, to supplement students'
self-directed learning between courses. After two years, three exams are
taken leading to the Diploma qualification. Successful candidates may
undertake a research project in the third year to achieve the Masters
qualification.
Applications are invited before the end of April 2006 and can be made
via the web. Details for this and additional details on the course are
accessible via:
