World Blood Donor Day 14 June 2008
The International Society of Blood Transfusion (ISBT), the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), and the International Federation of Blood Donor Organizations (FIODS) have significantly collaborated in order to celebrate globally the World Blood Donor Day 2006, on June 14, the birth date of Dr. Karl Landsteiner.

First Dr. Harold Gunson Fellowships winners awarded during the XVIIIth Regional Congress, Asia in Hanoi
On Sunday 11 November, ISBT President Prof. Shigeru Takamoto and ISBT Secretary General Dr. Paul Strengers honoured Dr. Harold Gunson for the first time by giving the fellowship winners an official certificate.
